Best overall: April–May and September–October. Mild weather, manageable crowds, reasonable prices, and the city at its most beautiful.
Best for budget: December–February (except New Year’s week). Lowest hotel prices, fewest tourists, authentic atmosphere.
Best for beaches/outdoors: June–August. Hot, crowded, but the Bosphorus and Black Sea beaches are at their best.
